Statoil Gets Nod to Remove TOGI Template (Norway)

Statoil has received consent from PSA Norway to remove the Troll Oseberg Gas Injection (TOGI) template from the seabed and transport it onshore for scrapping and recycling.  The TOGI facility is part of production licence 085 and is located south of Troll Øst in block 31/6.

The consent relates to removal of the actual TOGI template structure and will consist of the following main measures:

  • Mobilisation of Saipem’s heavy lifting vessel ”SSCV S7000”
  • Lifting from the seabed and towing the template from block 31/6 to an onshore facility at Leirvik on Stord, via Bømlafjorden
  • Cleaning the seabed after removing the template

Water depth at the site is 302 metres.  The activity is scheduled to be carried out in July-August 2012. TOGI is a subsea facility for up to six wells, of which five wells have been installed. The facility delivered gas from the Troll field for injection in Oseberg, via a 48-km long 20” pipeline, from 1991 up to 2002
