Steel cutting ceremony held for DEME’s LNG dredger
A steel cutting ceremony for DEME’s dual-fuel dredger was recently held at MTG Dolphin yard in Bulgaria.
“Cutting of the first steel plate for the new project – 3,500 m3 trailing suction hopper dredger „Minerva” took place at MTG Dolphin on 4th of February,” Bulgaria’s MTG-Dolphin said on Friday.
Belgian company DEME ordered the dredger at the Dutch shipyard Royal IHC. DEME currently has three duel-fuel dredgers on order with IHC.
The dual-fuel engines can either be run on liquefied natural gas or diesel.
