Sub-Atlantic lands three ROV orders

Sub-Atlantic has secured three international contracts with a combined value of over £3.5 million for the manufacture of three specialist remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).

The firm will provide IKM Subsea in Norway, Italy’s Globe Exploration and Total Marine Technology of Australia with observation class vehicles that are used across the offshore energy and defense industries.

Sub-Atlantic, which is part of the Forum Energy Technologies group, has its operations hub in Aberdeen and a manufacturing base in Kirbymoorside, Yorkshire. The company designs and manufactures of electric ROV systems and components for operation in harsh environments.

20 new jobs

The announcement follows a significant investment in the group’s Kirbymoorside facility to create a manufacturing center of excellence. The company has also said it is on a recruitment drive to boost its operational workforce in Aberdeen and add 20 manufacturing jobs in Yorkshire where it employs 300 people.
