Subsea Index Developed to Bi-Lingual Database (Norway)

To keep the Subsea Index relevant and updated all companies registered need to check and update information available in the database. This is particularly important this year as the database has been upgraded.

Throughout autumn the Subsea Index has been further developed to a bi-lingual database in English and Portuguese. Also, the categories were edited, the layout has been adjusted and the search function has been improved.

In order for a company to visible and searchable, it is important to submit complete information and add relevant business categories.

The database is open for registration for all companies working in the subsea industry. All partners and members of NCE Subsea are automatically registered, but must keep the information in the database updated. Up until new year all companies registered will be reminded to update their entry in the Subsea Index.

Brazil – a growing market

The new bi-lingual database allows users to easily switch between English and Portuguese, and all information is available and searchable in both languages. The purpose of this is to strengthen cooperation between Norwegian and Brazilian companies and organizations.

According to INTSOK the subsea market in Brazil has increased from US$ 2.4 billion in 2006 to US$ 6.1 billion in 2011, with a further expected growth to US$ 13 billion in 2016. For comparison, the Norwegian subsea market was US$ 2.3 billion in 2011 with an expected growth to US$4.3 billion in 2016.

In 2016 Brazil is expected to be the world’s largest subsea market and will represent close to 20 percent of the global market.

The bi-lingual Subsea was launched during Rio Oil and Gas in September 2012.
