Subsea UK: Seminars focusing on the Brazilian and Mexican markets

Industry body Subsea UK will host seminars in Bristol and Plymouth on October 14 & 15 respectively focusing on the Brazilian and Mexican markets.

Subsea UK said that expert speakers from UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and UK Export Finance would attend the seminars. In addition, the gathering will include one-to-one clinics and a networking lunch.

The industry body noted that a series of events had been arranged to showcase the breadth of opportunities available to firms from the South and South-west operating in the subsea industry.

Gosport, in Hampshire, will hold a networking event aimed at establishing a Subsea South group on November 5 & 6. As part of the programme there will be the possibility to visit Saab Seaeye and Magma Global’s bases nearby as well as a buffet dinner.

Subsea UK is a self-sustaining body representing over 320 members. It acts as a focal point to promote the sector and maximise its opportunities and provides a national forum for collaboration, diversification and technology development.

Subsea UK chief executive Neil Gordon said: “The South and South-west of England is home to a huge amount of innovation and expertise, particularly in the areas of oil and gas. As an organisation covering the whole of the UK, we want to help these companies make the most of the opportunities available for them to grow their business worldwide.”

“Even in the face of a difficult period for the energy industry, the skills and knowledge our members possess can help to strengthen the sector globally. We are always looking to broaden our network and help businesses find common ground that can be beneficial to all involved. There are a host of openings in Brazil and Mexico and these seminars will give top level advice on the best ways to make inroads into potentially lucrative marketplaces.”

Subsea UK noted that the Bristol seminar takes place at Armada House, with Plymouth University hosting the following day’s event at Drake Circus.

The industry body added that the Southern Networking event takes place at the John Fieldhouse Building, Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower and The Royal Navy Submarine Museum, Gosport, Hampshire. The networking dinner takes place on November 5 with business visits taking place at various times over both days.
