Successful Start of 2014 for Osiris Projects

Osiris Projects has had a very busy and successful start to 2014. At the end of 2013 there were a number of significant developments that have impacted the successful start and the predicted successful end to 2014.

Osiris Projects launched their new purpose built survey catamaran, Proteus in November 2013. This vessel is the fifth in the Osiris fleet and has already worked on 2 significant projects in the first quarter of the year.

The custom build of the sister ship to Bibby Tethra, named Bibby Athena will launch in winter 2014. The vessel will mirror the capabilities of Bibby Tethra with a few subtle changes to reflect the company’s development into shallow geotechnical sampling and the more challenging offshore market.

The announcement in Q4 2013 that Osiris Projects had been awarded the cable route survey work for the £146m Highlands & Island Project had a great impact on this 1st quarter of 2014. The surveying of the 20 cable routes, which is now almost completed, has kept most of the vessels busy through the traditionally quieter months of the year.

Neptune, the vessel Osiris Projects have taken on a long term charter, has arrived. The charter started on 1st April and will last initally for 6 months. She is a 50m ice breaker survey vessel and has given Osiris Projects the opportunity to move into deeper water work.

Osiris Projects have also committed to develop and invest in their in-house geotechnical department. In January 2014 they took ownership of the unique new Datem Neptune 5000.

Most recently Osiris Projects attended Oceanology International at the ExCel in London. The company hailed this event a great success and have booked to attend in 2016.

Finally with a record number of enquiries this year it seems to be shaping up for a great year for Osiris Projects.
