Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Hosts Two Steel Cutting Ceremonies

Recently Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding held steel cutting ceremonies for two vessels. One for the 82,000 DWT Bulk Carrier and second for 1100 TEU Container Feeder.

The steel-cutting ceremony for 4th 82,000 DWT Bulk Carrier (Yard No TC0104), being built for Hong Kong owner, was held at Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding’s new facility. The owner’s representative started the steel-cutting ceremony with one push on the button.

Shipyard leaders and relevant persons in charge attended the ceremony alongside with the representatives of the owner and Class society.

The second steel-cutting ceremony was for 1100 TEU Container Feeder ( Yard No TK0603) being built for Germany owner. The representatives of the owner and shipyard relevant leaders attended the ceremony. Owner’s representative opened the ceremony.

Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd (KASC), with nearly forty years of shipbuilding history, tracing back to 1970s, has total registered capital of RMB 308 mln and has been rewarded as one of the top 30 enterprises in Taizhou City. KASC mainly engages in building various motored vessels. The shipyard employs more than 9,000 workers, among them there around 800 various technicians, with 400 engineers and senior engineers.
