Talisman gets go-ahead for Snømus drilling

Talisman Energy Norge AS has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway for exploration drilling of well 15/12-24, in the North Sea. 

Talisman is the operator for production licence 672 in block 15/12 in the central North Sea.

According to the PSA, the company is to drill well 15/12-24 in a prospect named Snømus, to investigate the find’s potential.

The well will be drilled by a jack-up drilling rig Mærsk Giant. It is owned and operated by the A.P. Møller-Mærsk Group. It was built in Japan by Hitachi and completed in 1986.

Mærsk Giant can operate in water depths of up to 107 metres and accommodates 87 people.
