Tallink LNG ferry’s keel to be laid in February

Tallink Grupp said on Friday its LNG-powered ferry will have its keel laid at the Meyer Turku yard o February 9 and the vessel will be named Megastar.

The construction of the vessel kicked off at the Finnish yard in August 2015, the company said in a statement.

The 212 meters long LNG-fueled fast ferry will be able to accommodate 2800 passengers and will operate on the Tallin-Helsinki route.

Total investment in the vessel is at €230 million and its delivery is set for the beginning of 2017.
