Technip India gets new managing director

Technip informed that Bhaskar Patel has been appointed as Managing Director, Technip India.

He takes over from Samik Mukherjee, who recently moved to Technip Corporate Services in Paris, France, as Group Senior Vice President Strategy & Business Development, Subsea, the company said in a statement.

Bhaskar has 30-years of experience with major EPC companies in the hydrocarbons contracting industry.

He started his career with Worley Engineering and then moved to KTI BV (now Technip) in The Netherlands in 1986, where he worked within the ethylene product line. Thereafter he moved to Houston, USA, with KBR, and spent the following 7 years progressing to the position of global head of Sales, Proposals and Strategy. After a short period with Essar in Dubai, UAE, he joined Shaw E&C in 2008 where he was responsible for leading global business development, proposals and company strategy.

Bhaskar joined Technip in 2012 after the group’s acquisition of Stone & Webster Process Technologies and associated oil and gas engineering capabilities from the Shaw Group. Based in Paris, he has been responsible for Group’s Key Accounts, Tendering and Proposals for the past 3 years. With his new assignment as Managing Director in India, Bhaskar will keep responsibility as Group SVP, Key Account Management.
