Technip wins contract for SCT&E LNG project

French engineering outfit Technip signed a master services agreement with SCT&E LNG for their proposed 12 mtpa LNG export terminal on Monkey Island, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, USA.

Under the MSA Technip will execute engineering services necessary to develop the project including the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and supporting the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) process, the company said in its statement.

The contract will be executed by Technip’s operating center in Houston,Texas in the United Sates.

The total liquefaction capacity for the SCT&E LNG project is 12 mtpa and will be achieved through three identical 4 mtpa natural gas liquefaction trains, with the necessary utilities, storage, and marine facilities.

Earlier in June SCT&E LNG signed a binding 20-year fixed price natural gas supply agreement to support its future LNG facility.

The company has also signed four offtake deals totaling 4.7 mtpa of LNG, over a third of the proposed facility’s total capacity, with shipments expected to start in 2022.
