Video: Teekay’s 1st Conventional Aframax Tanker Transits Panama Canal


Teekay has shared a video of its product tanker Leyte Spirit which completed transit through the Panama Canal earlier this month.

The 109,676 dwt vessel became Teekay’s first conventional Aframax tanker to cross the waterway.

Built at Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in China in 2011, the ship has a length of 243 meters and a width of 42 meters.

Flying the flag of the Bahamas, the vessel is one of 57 conventional tankers owned by Teekay.

Back in 2014, Teekay bought the ship, previously named Cape Endurance, from Columbia Shipmanagement, VesselsValue’s data shows.

Currently, Leyte Spirit has a market value of USD 26.56 million.
