TENP reverse flow project gets thumbs up

Germany’s association of gas transmission system operators, FNB Gas revealed a Network Development Plan 2015 including the TENP reverse flow project. 

German National Regulatory Authority approved the plan that describes a total of 71 infrastructure projects involving an overall investment of €3.3 billion in the period to 2025, according to a recent FNB Gas statement.

Among those projects is the Fluxys’ TENP reverse flow project which will enable gas from Italy, including North African, Russian and LNG sources landing in the country, and France to flow into Germany.

The investments in the TENP system are part of the wider reverse flow project involving the Transitgas pipeline in Switzerland, the GRTgaz network in France and the Snam Rete Gas network in Italy, Fluxys said in its statement on Thursday.

When the project is completed in the summer of 2018, shippers will be able to move through Switzerland gas from Italy to Germany and France as well as gas from Germany to France and France to Germany.
