Terntank names two LNG-powered tankers

Danish shipping company, Terntank Rederi recently held a naming ceremony for the two of its four LNG-powered newbuilds at AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding in China.

The first vessel was named M/T Ternsund and is scheduled for delivery by end-June, as Terntank expects the vessel will take up to six weeks to sail from China to Europe, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Upon delivery, it will enter a time charter with Finnish North European Oil Trade (NEOT) to distribute refined oil products from the company’s refinery in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The second vessel was named M/T Ternfjord, and it is scheduled for delivery in August 2016. Ternfjord’s hull was launched a day after the naming ceremony at AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding, Terntank informed.

The two other vessels are scheduled for delivery by end 2016 and beginning of 2017, Terntank said.
