Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking for a contractor to perform bathymetric river bed surveys for the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project.

The scope of work includes the baseline bathymetric surveys to be conducted for a period of approximately eighteen months prior to the start of river based construction activities to establish a baseline.

The bathymetric surveys are to be conducted on a quarterly basis, around the time of the equinoxes along the river and at 10 specific sites (7 construction sites and 3 barge handling facilities).

In the 18 month period one whole river survey comprising a full width river bed survey along the river from Chiswick Eyot to Greenwich Pier and 5 site specific river surveys comprising local surveys in the vicinity of each of the identified foreshore sites shall be completed.

Bathymetric surveys shall be carried out using multi-beam sonar and laser scanning techniques recording the data in digital format to both the project grid and the project datum, OS National Grid co-ordinate system and using a format acceptable to the Port of London Authority.

Surveys are to include 3D laser scanning of intertidal areas and photographic records.

High definition 360 degree digital panoramic photography integrated with the laser scanning equipment shall be undertaken.

Thames Water Utilities Limited’s project has a value of £750,000, (ovdje ubaci iznos i u dolarima)and it is expected to be completed 18 months from the date of contact award.

The deadline for expressions of interest for the project is January 23, 2014.
