The Global Map of China Shipping Group Completed

Shanghai-based China Shipping Group has further developed the group’s global presence with the launch of its South America Holding Corp in Brazil.

The launch ceremony of China Shipping (South America) Holding Co. Ltd. was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on March 28th 2014.

Leaders from the Chinese embassy in Brazil and Chinese consulate in Sao Paulo, CNNT executive director Mr. Claudio Loureiro de Souza and friends from local banks, ports, terminals, ship companies, freight agencies, Chinese enterprises and media attended the ceremony.

This is China Shipping’s seventh international holding corporation, completing the company’s global map. The group’s chairman, Mr. Xu Lirong said at the opening speech that the new company’s business will double in three years allowing China a closer bilateral trade relation with South America.

So far, at least six international shippers have developed shipping lines in Latin America, including the world’s top 10 such as the CMA CGM Group, Maersk Line and CSAV Group.

China Shipping’s latest figures show 7 percent annual increase in trade growth between China and Latin America. Shipping volume in 2013 reached 180,000 tons. The company expects to increase that to 200,000 tons in 2014.
