The Netherlands: Flexlife Delivers Paper at Offshore Pipeline Technology Conference

Flexlife, an oil and gas industry specialist in subsea project and integrity management, will outline its novel inspection and monitoring methodologies at a major event for the offshore pipeline sector.

Chief Operating Officer John Marsden is delivering a paper at the Offshore Pipeline Technology Conference in Amsterdam (March 6-7th) on safeguarding flexible risers and pipes as part of an integrated offshore subsea integrity management system.

The event is recognised as Europe’s leading forum for offshore pipeline technology professionals and provides an unrivalled forum to hear about cutting edge technologies, industry drivers and best practices within the offshore pipeline sector.

Mr Marsden will present Flexlife’s approach to inspection and monitoring, discussing how the company uses its innovative technology and techniques to help safely extend the lifespan of flexible risers and pipes.

Mr Marsden said: “The ever growing popularity of deep and ultra deepwater subsea oil and gas developments has led to the increasing use of flexible risers and pipes as the critical link between the subsea infrastructure and topsides facilities.

“Frequent inspection and maintenance of these safety critical elements is essential for the early identification of issues such as pipe flooding or a breach of the external protective sheath. If left un-addressed this kind of damage can result in the need for early replacement at great cost to operators.”

Flexlife’s global HQ is in Aberdeen, Scotland. The company also has offices in Rio, Houston, Newcastle and is looking to open an operational base in Angola. It was Scotland’s fastest-growing young company in 2010.
