The Netherlands: Huge Interest for Alicat Workboats at EWEA

Alicat workboats exhibited for the first time at the EWEA, the world’s largest and most prestigious offshore renewables exhibition.

Huge interest was shown in Alicat Workboats and new customers were very taken with the design and capabilities, whilst existing users of Alicat Workboats praised the sea keeping comfort and the overall performance of the vessels. Steve Thacker (General Manager of Alicat Workboats) stated that:

We can tell from the way the boat was received at the show that the Alicat Workboat is fast becoming the vessel of choice for the wind farm crew transfer.”

Alicat Launched a new scheme where other yards can build a workboat under licence and this was well received with a “Boat in a box to your yard” theme being taken on board by many interested parties. Nigel Darling (Director of Alicat Workboats) stated that:

We can foresee Alicat Workboats being built in yards right across Europe and the Alicat Brand becoming strong in the market.”

Also at the show Simon Coote (Technical manager for Alicat Workboats) discussed future designs with the main wind farm operators, from these discussions new concepts in workboat design will be developed to suit the ever increasing demands of the wind farm support requirement. So it’s a case of “watch this Space!” for new designs to compliment the existing range of the Alicat Workboats.
