The Netherlands: Mulder Shipyard Starts to Build Bellagio Yacht

Bellagio Yachts in the Netherlands has made considerable progress on Bellagio over the past months together with Vripack and Mulder Shipyard. Mulder started building the yacht a few weeks ago, with work currently proceeding on the aluminium hull.

Bellagio is being constructed under the label ‘built by Mulder’. This offers clients the possibility to contract the expertise of Mulder Shipyard for realising a dream yacht based on designs of their own. Naturally, the design of all such boats is required to fit in with the appearance and quality demands of Mulder Shipyard.

“We selected the main elements of Bellagio very carefully,” Pim Dijksman from the Vripack Design Studio says. “The yacht has a tremendously long foreship and a small and low sporty wheelhouse with an elegantly sloping stern. When coming up with this design we found inspiration in the early sports cars that were developed in the interwar period.”

“While Bellagio‘s design is firmly rooted in this classic foundation, it is also refined with modern influences,” Marnix Hoekstra from Vripack adds. “At Vripack, we were careful to do this without relying too much on the many contemporary trends.

Bellagio is being built in aluminium, allowing her weight to be kept to a minimum. She will be able to reach speeds of around 30 knots with the planned propulsion system of twin Volvo IPS600 engines, while an optional third engine would give her a potential top speed of 40 knots.

The yacht’s interior design is clean and elegant, and comprises an owner’s stateroom, two guest cabins and two bathrooms. The spacious wheelhouse will host a galley with refrigerator and cooking facilities, and there will be four generous seats behind the wheelhouse window providing comfortable seating to the helmsman and passengers. This space will also contain a large settee and spacious sun bed.

The technical installations and navigation equipment will be chosen and installed based on the highest standards, as expected from a yacht built at Mulder Shipyard. Bellagio will be ideal both as a cruiser and as a tender for a superyacht.
