The Netherlands: Shipyard De Schroef to Receive New Floating Dock

Shipyard De Schroef recently announced that it is going to expand its capabilities with a “new” floating dock. This floating dock is not a new one but previously owned dock which went through certain modifications.

The “new” floating dock, 162 m long with an inside clearance of 22 m, will offer a wide range of possibilities for the construction, finishing touches and repairs of all kind off vessels.

With the lifting capacity of 8000 tons, the dock will allow repairs and maintenance of coasters as well as larger ships. All future work will be done directly from the dock floor.

The dock is scheduled for delivery in January 2013.
