UK Detains Three More Foreign Ships in July

Three more foreign-flagged vessels were detained in UK ports during July 2016 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection, the country’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) said.

In addition, four vessels remained under detention from previous months.

Vessels detained during the previous months include Malaviya Seven, Sea Trident, Southern Star and Cien Porciento.

Six out of seven vessels remained under detention at the end of the month, with one vessel released on July 11.

The vessels which were detained during July include Malaviya Twenty, Paulin B and RSS Cormorant.

India-flagged Malaviya Twenty was detained on July 4 in Great Yarmouth.

Additionally, Germany-flagged general cargo vessel Paulin B was detained on July 8 in Great Yarmouth and released a few days later.

Finally, RSS Cormorant, another general cargo vessel, was put under detention on July 27 in Portland.
