The company delivered the chilled fuel to the Atair, a research vessel owned and operated by the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) of Germany.

This was the first time Titan LNG delivered LNG to Atair. It is the world’s first LNG-fueled research vessel. It features a 130-cbm liquefied natural gas tank onboard enabling the vessel to run on LNG alone for ten days.

The Atair is 75 m long and 17 m wide, making it the largest research vessel in the BSH fleet.

The general contractor for the vessel was Fassmer Shipyard while the hull, superstructure and parts of the outfitting were constructed at the German Naval Yards Kiel.

The survey vessel is being used for wreck search and underwater surveying.
