Titan LNG, a liquified natural gas (LNG) supplier to marine and industrial users in North West Europe, successfully re-fueled DEME’s trailing suction hopper dredger Scheldt River today, at Mukran Port on the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea.

Commenting the latest news, Jippe van Eijnatten, Titan LNG’s business development manager, said: “The approval process for obtaining clearance to bunker is becoming more standardized and approvals are received faster from the ports. LNG as a bunker fuel is gaining traction as the fuel itself, the financial and operational benefits are becoming well-known.

Today’s re-fueling operation, including seven LNG trucks, is the first LNG bunkering operation at Mukran Port, the company stated.

Besides the truck-to-ship LNG bunkering operations, Titan LNG is gearing towards the ship-to-ship bunkering services in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp area once its FlexFueler001 bunkering pontoon currently under construction hits the water at the start of 2019.
