Toisa Secures Charter for Tanker United Ideal

US-based energy major Chevron Corporation has agreed to ratify a charter contract for the crude oil tanker United Ideal, according to offshore support vessels operator Toisa Limited.

The owner of the 161,800 dwt tanker said that the deal, agreed on March 22, will cover the vessel’s charter on a 30-day or more voyage from the Arabian Gulf to South Africa.

Toisa’s vessel United Journey, which was released by Citibank, has a charter and is now back in service and generating income.

“The company is pleased by the continued confidence of its charterers in Toisa’s subsidiary Trade and Transport, Inc. as Toisa’s operations continue to run normally amid its constructive debt restructuring negotiations with global stakeholders,” the shipowner said.

Toisa filed its voluntary Chapter 11 in January 2017 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.
