Tokyo Gas expands in Vietnam and Indonesia

Japan’s Tokyo Gas said it will open two offices in April this year, one in Hanoi and the other in Jakarta.

Tokyo Gas Asia was established in December 2014 as a regional headquarters for business and investment activities in the Southeast Asian region in order to accelerate global business development which is one of the main policies for FY2015-2017 toward realizing the Tokyo Gas Group’s long-term vision, Challenge 2020 Vision, the company said in a statement.

Tokyo Gas then established representative offices in Hanoi, Vietnam and Jakarta, Indonesia on February 11 and March 10, respectively, to swiftly examine the construction of infrastructure and new business projects in both Vietnam and Indonesia, according to the statement.

The company also plans to establish a representative office in Bangkok, Thailand within 2015.

Tokyo Gas is one of Japan’s major gas utilities, serving over 11 million customers and supplying some 14 billion cubic meters of gas each year (approximately 12 million tons of LNG equivalent).
