Tokyo Gas February Sales Up 8.1 Pct

Japan’s Tokyo Gas said its total gas sales volume for the month of February 2014 came to about 1,465.835 million m3, up 8.1% from February 2013.

In the residential sector, volume totaled 457.532 million m3, up 6.7% from February 2013, due to more metering days than those of last year, , while in the business sector (consisting of commercial, public, and medical use), volume totaled 262.753 million m3, up 5.2% from February 2013, due to more metering days than those of last year.

In the industrial sector, volume totaled 529.504 million m3, up 10.6% from February 2013, leading to the increased demand for power generation and the higher operation on existing facilities.

Volume for wholesale supply to other gas companies totaled 216.046 million m3, up 8.3% from February 2013, due to the increased demand of the other companies.
