VIDEO: Shell’s Prelude FLNG Hull Floated Out of Dry Dock

The 488-metre-long-hull of Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility has been floated out of the dry dock at the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) yard in Geoje, South Korea, where the facility is currently under construction.

A small fire occurred on board a Dana Petroleum-operated FPSO, moored in the UK North Sea.   In an e-mail sent to Offshore Energy Today, Dana Petroleum confirmed that there was a minor incident on its Triton Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO) in the UK North Sea on Monday.

Shell plans to go back to Arctic drilling in the Chukchi Sea, offshore Alaska, in July next year.   The oil giant last year put its Arctic aspirations on ice after it had encountered several setbacks.
