Heerema’s Aegir Heads for The Netherlands

On January 16, Heerema Marine Contractor’s new Deepwater Construction Vessel Aegir set sail for the Netherlands after almost 19 months of construction at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) yard in Okpo, South Korea.

Hallin Penrith Sinks Offshore Myanmar

Hallin Marine has confirmed that its offshore support vessel Penrith sunk last week off the coast of Myanmar. In an e-mail sent to Offshore Energy Today, the company informed that all 42 crew members were rescued.

South Korea’s HHI Wins Aasta Hansteen Topsides Order from Statoil

South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world’s biggest shipbuilder and leading offshore facilities contractor has announced the Company, as a  sole EPIC contractor, won a USD 1.1 billion order for the topside facility to be installed on the Aasta Hansteen spar hull, also being built by HHI.
