1. Volstad Shipping Orders Subsea IMR and Construction Vessel from Tersan Shipyard

Volstad Shipping AS has signed a contract with Tersan Shipyard in Turkey regarding building of a Subsea IMR and Construction Vessel. The contract was signed July 4th 2013 and is subject to satisfactory financing.

2. Saipem: Search for Missing Person on Perro Negro 6 Incident Underway

Saipem, regarding the incident that occurred on July 1st to the jack up drilling rig Perro Negro 6, which was operating between the coasts of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, near the mouth of the Congo River, announces the following updates: the search for the missing person, of Bulgarian nationality, is currently under way and being carried out by the emergency authorities.

3. Subsea 7 Bags $1.6 Bln Contracts for Three New-Build PLSVs

Subsea 7 S.A. announced the award of three contracts from Petrobras with a combined value (at the time of contract signature) of approximately US$1.6 billion for the construction and operation of three new-build flexible pipe-lay support vessels (PLSVs).

4. Saipem Rig Perro Negro 6 Sinks Offshore Angola

Saipem informs that last night, July 1, the jack up drilling rig Perro Negro 6, due to the collapsing of the seabed under one of the three legs, suddenly tilted and suffered hull damages, causing water intake.

5. Tocardo Completes Tidal Turbine Offshore Trials in Dutch Waddensea

In May 2013 Tocardo deployed its tidal turbine, equipped with blades made by Airborne Marine, in the Dutch Waddensea for a full scale offshore test and calibration program. The turbine was attached to a barge and was taken to the Marsdiep, known for its strong tidal currents. The motorized barge acted as floating foundation system that could be powered to simulate even stronger currents.
