Trafigura Opts for GSI Tankers

Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. (GSI), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), recently signed a contract with Swiss owner Trafigura for the construction of up to eight 50,000dwt chemical/product tankers.

The shipyard will build four vessels with the option for four more to be exercised by September this year.

As Sinoshipnews reports, the order is the largest tanker order for CSSC Group received this year.

GSI, founded in 1954, is the largest modern integrated shipbuilding enterprise in South China and one of the 500 biggest enterprises in China.
