Transocean Adds 662 Mln to Its Orderbook

Transocean Ltd., a Switzerland-based offshore drilling contractor, said in its monthly fleet update summary, providing information on the new contracts and significant changes to existing contracts, that the value of new contracts or extensions since the April 18, 2013 fleet status report is approximately $662 million.

Deepwater Millennium drillship, working currently in Mozambique, has been awarded a two-year contract for work offshore Australia at a dayrate of $605,000 ($442 million estimated contract backlog). The rig’s prior dayrate was $545,000. The contract is expected to start in February 2014.

Transocean John Shaw rig  has been assigned a one-year contract extension for work in the U.K. sector of the North Sea at a dayrate of $415,000 ($151 million estimated contract backlog). The rig’s prior dayrate was $360,000.

And finally, Jack Bates, a Friede & Goldman L-1020 Trendsetter semi-submersible drilling unit, secured a three-well contract for work offshore Australia at a dayrate of $525,000 ($47 million contract backlog). The rig’s prior dayrate was $380,000.
