Trianel Looking for Foundations for 2nd OWF Phase

Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum II GmbH & Co. KG, the developer of the second phase of the already existing Trianel Windpark Borkum, Manufacturing, has invited tenders for the supply, on- and offshore logistics, and installation of monopiles, transition pieces and scour protection.

The offshore wind project’s site is located 45 km north of the island of Borkum in the North Sea at a water depth of approx. 28m to 33m.

The main site for the onshore production are the facilities of the contractor.

Companies interested in the tender competition must apply for participation in the negotiation procedure, the developer said. The documents for requesting to participate are made available exclusively in electronic form on the Deutsche Vergabeportal, after a prior one-time, free registration.

Deadline for the submission of tenders is 8 March, 2016.

Supplier of wind turbines for Trianel Windpark Borkum II is still unknown. “The award procedure for the turbines is currently in progress. We have put turbines in the 6 to 8 MW-class out for tender,” Trianel told Offshore WIND.

The first phase, which comprised forty Areva’s M5000-116 wind turbines (now Adwen’s AD 5-116), was put into full operation in mid-July 2015. The construction of the second phase is expected to start in 2017.
