Trump Tries to Block Substation at Blackdog (UK)

U.S. real estate mogul Donald Trump is yet again ready to resort to legal action against offshore wind development offshore Aberdeen coast, The Press and Journal writes.

Namely, Trump has already tried to block the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) by saying that he will halt the development of his second golf course, five-star hotel, 500 homes and 950 short-term rental apartments at Menie, north of Aberdeen.

This time he is trying to stop EOWDC development by blocking one of its key parts, an electricity substation at Blackdog.

Trump has already backed residents of Blackdog in protest against the substation.

The EOWDC development consists of 11 wind turbines and their connecting cables, sited between two and 4.5 km off the Aberdeenshire coast, capable of generating up to 100 MW, providing enough energy to meet the needs of over 49,000 homes – almost half of the homes in Aberdeen.
