Two Cargo Vessels Sunk Offshore China

In two separate incidents off the coast of East China two cargo vessels sank, and 26 seafarers were reported missing.

The cargo ship XINGLONG ZHOU65 sank off the coast of Yantai city on Sunday with twelve people onboard.

Three bodies were found during the search, and the remaining nine are still missing, China Daily reported.

The second incident was reported in early hours on Monday, when a cargo vessel ZIHAISHUN sank off the Weihai city.

14 crew members of ZIHAISHUN are missing.

It is suspected that the causes of both incidents are strong winds and waves.

Rescuers on boats and in helicopters are searching for the missing people.
