U.S. FERC to Prepare Environmental Statement for Magnolia LNG Project

The staff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) intends to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) that will discuss the environmental impacts of the Magnolia Liquefied Natural Gas Project involving construction and operation of facilities by Magnolia LNG, LLC in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana.

The Commission will use this EIS in its decision-making process to determine whether the project is in the public convenience and necessity.

This notice announces the opening of the scoping process the Commission will use to gather input from the public and interested agencies on the project.

Magnolia LNG Project:

The project comprises the proposed development of an 8 mtpa LNG project on a 90 acres site, in an established LNG shipping channel in the Lake Charles District, State of Louisiana, United States of America. The development is based on the staged development of 4 x 2 mtpa LNG production trains using LNG Ltd’s wholly owned OSMR® LNG process technology and the completed LNG plant front end engineering and design of LNG Ltd’s Gladstone Fisherman’s Landing LNG Project in Queensland, Australia.
