U.S. weekly offshore rig count up by two

The number of active offshore rigs in the U.S. is up by two units over the last week, according to a weekly rig count report by Baker Hughes.

Due to Good Friday, the weekly North America rig counts were issued ahead of schedule on Thursday, 1 April 2021.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: U.S. +13 to 430 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 13 from last week at 430 with oil rigs up 13 to 337, gas rigs down 1 to 91, and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 2.

U.S. Rig Count is down 234 rigs from last year’s count of 664, with oil rigs down 225, gas rigs down 9 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2.

The U.S. Offshore Rig Count is up 2 to 14, down 4 year-over-year.

Baker Hughes Rig Count: Canada -12 rigs to 69 rigs.

Canada Rig Count is down 12 from last week to 69, with oil rigs down 7 to 24, gas rigs down 5 to 45.

Canada Rig Count is up 28 rigs from last year’s count of 41, with oil rigs up 15, gas rigs up 13.
