UK Deputy Prime Minister's OW Plans Useless, UKIP MEP Says

East Mildands Euro MP, Roger Helmer, has marked last-week’s announcement by Deputy Prime Minister of the UK, Nick Clegg, to invest in offshore wind as ”useless“, writes the Express.

The Deputy Prime Minister plans to invest GBP 66 million to boost offshore wind supply chain development.

Helmer said: “Not only is Nick Clegg mad, he is also about 18 months out of date – no one is interested in wind power anymore.”

He also stressed that UK is losing this energy battle against other countries that are investing in coal power.

“Nothing we do will bring down CO2 emissions significantly. All we will do is damage ourselves and deny our children jobs and opportunities,” said Helmer
