UK Expro Shortlisted in Scottish Business Awards.

Leading international oilfield services company, Expro, has been shortlisted in the prestigious 2013 Scottish Business Awards, which are due to be announced at a ceremony in Edinburgh this week.

President Bill Clinton will deliver a key note speech to over 1,600 business people attending this year’s awards, including Expro, who are finalists in ‘The International Business of the Year’ category.

The Scottish Business Awards aim to recognise excellence in Scottish business, celebrating those who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses in Scotland. By recognising and rewarding the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement, the ultimate aim of this event is to encourage entrepreneurial activity among the future generation, and harness their potential for the benefit of Scotland’s economy.

The International Business of the Year category recognises businesses that have achieved a high level of international sales or operations. Judging criteria includes evidence of growth and success, in particular, exceptional growth from global business over the last 18 months.

Expro, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, employs 5,000 people in 50 countries, including more than 800 from its main operational base in Aberdeen. With regional headquarters in Aberdeen, Accra, Dubai, Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Rio, Expro continues to invest in its people, technologies and global infrastructure to position the business for future growth.

Awards judging panel chairman, entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter, said: “I commend every entrant who applied to the Scottish Business Awards, the applications have been truly astonishing and underscore the vibrancy of the Scottish business sector.

“Business is at the heart of our economic recovery and to those shortlisted now I’d say you have a very special opportunity to contribute to that recovery – well done and good luck for the finals…”

The event takes place on Friday, June 21st at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
