UK: Houlder to Demonstrate Its Turbine Access System at Seawork 2012

Houlder, UK employee- owned business will showcase its Turbine Access System (TAS) at Seawork 2012, taking place from May 22-24.

The system is a hydraulically controlled motion-compensated gangway that provides safe personnel transfer between workboats and offshore wind turbine platforms. It provides an improved operation and maintenance capability in higher sea states in comparison to the current solutions. “Following huge levels of interest at Seawork last year, we’re delighted to return with the finished article. I’d encourage anyone with an interest in wind farm operations to come and see how we’ve put theory put into practice,” said Rupert Hare, Houlder’s chief executive officer.

The TAS has recently successfully completed factory acceptance testing (pictured) for its first client, Turbine Transfers Limited and will leave the Seawork Exhibition to undertake sea trials over the summer.

Houlder will be exhibiting at stand Q29.
