UK: New CEO for Odfjell Drilling

Simen Lieungh (50) will take over as the new CEO of Odfjell Drilling on October 1, 2010. Mr. Lieungh comes from the position of CEO of Aker Solutions and replaces Ketil Lenning, who has been CEO of Odfjell Drilling since 2001.

Under Mr. Lenning’s management, Odfjell Drilling has seen significant growth over the last ten years, including a comprehensive rig renewal program. In addition, service activities have been expanded in Norway and abroad, platform activities have been further developed, with strong expansion in the UK, and a comprehensive, internationally active technology division has been built up.

Planned change

“The company’s board of directors was informed early on that I would leave the post at a given point in time. After ten years, it is natural to hand over management of the company to someone else. Odfjell Drilling can look forward to having a CEO as accomplished and

experienced as Mr. Lieungh,” said Ketil Lenning.

Sound experience

Chair of the board Helene Odfjell is very pleased that Mr. Lieungh has decided to play a part in the further development of Odfjell Drilling.

Mr. Lieungh has very extensive, wide-ranging experience of the oil and gas industry. He has led large-scale offshore projects and has extensive contacts in the industry, and he has also managed and developed enterprises in Norway and abroad.
