UK: Penspen Appoints New Managing Director of Engineering and Project Management

The Penspen Group today announced that Ernie Lamza, its current Director of Offshore, has been appointed as Managing Director of the Engineering and Project Management (E&PM) side of the business, a new role which has been created in response to the company’s 400% growth in the past five years.

Ernie joined Penspen in 2006 as General Manager of its Aberdeen office including responsibilities for Andrew Palmer & Associates in the city. In 2008 he took on the role of Director of Penspen’s worldwide Offshore interests and also joined the Penspen Group Board.

As of today he will take on the new role of Director of E&PM to strengthen and expand Penspen’s technical capabilities and to widen the depth and breadth of its oil and gas services worldwide. Ernie’s appointment means that, in addition to his current role as Director of Offshore, he will ultimately oversee all E&PM business streams including Onshore Studies and FEEDs, Onshore Detailed Design, Project Management Services and Contracting. Ernie, who is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, started his career at Conoco in the UK with spells in the USA, before working at BHP Petroleum and Atlantic Power / PGS.

Chief Executive David Stanley said of the appointment:

“Following his successes with the Offshore side of the business, I am delighted to welcome Ernie to his new position and look forward to working with him to expand and consolidate the depth and breadth of Penspen’s technical offering across all locations.”

Ernie Lamza said:

“I am very much looking forward to working with David and the rest of the Senior Team to build on Penspen’s strong UK and international successes to drive growth and expansion of Engineering and Project Management opportunities worldwide.”
