UK: RWE Extends Triton Knoll OWF Consultation

UK RWE Extends Triton Knoll OWF Consultation

A consultation being undertaken by RWE npower renewables on the options for locating the onshore electrical system for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm has been extended following requests from the public.

The renewable energy company is demonstrating that the consultation is still very much alive by sending out hundreds of additional copies of the questionnaire and information booklets to residents who are also keen to participate in the consultation.

Jacob Hain, Project Manager for the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm said: “Responses and feedback we receive from local residents and businesses are essential as they will help us to choose the final zones for the electrical infrastructure.

“We are really grateful that so many people have participated in the consultation so far, with over 700 attending events throughout the county; it’s a great example of localism in action.

“Following a large amount of requests, we have agreed with the local authority an extension to those residents and parishes who will be directly sent consultation information. We will also shortly be announcing another public event in the village of Great Hale, North Kesteven, to allow local people who were unable to make our previous events to meet with us.

“Whilst people do not need to have received a copy of the questionnaire through their letter box to participate in the consultation, we welcome as much feedback as possible and will ensure that new participants are given enough time to respond.

“The consultation documents have been widely available since the consultation commenced in February, including at the public events, online at www.npower-renewables.com/tritonknoll, sent to parish councils and posted directly to households in the agreed areas.”
