UK SWEL Tests Wave Energy Device in Plymouth University's Ocean Tank

Sea Wave Energy Ltd (SWEL), last week, conducted a test of prototype of a device which is developed to generate electricity from waves and to work as a cheap desalination plant for areas where fresh water is scarce.

The test was conducted in Plymouth University’s state-of-the-art ocean tank in Marine Building at North Cross, This is Cornwall news site reports.

The tested device was designed by Adamos Zakheos, and it is called Waveline Magnet.

Coastal Ocean and Sediment Transport (COaST) laboratories scientific manager Dr Stuart Stripling announced that another two organisations were expected to test their devices in the ocean tank this spring.
