UK: TAG to Showcase Growing Manufacturing Capabilities at Global Offshore Wind

TAG Energy Solutions will be showcasing its growing manufacturing capabilities for the offshore renewables sector when it appears at RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind exhibition.

Appearing on Stand 81, TAG Energy Solutions will highlight its increased ability to undertake the engineering, procurement and construction of offshore wind substation topsides as well as a full range of accommodation modules and other minimum facility platforms.

The North East England-based company recently completed the next stage of the redevelopment of its manufacturing facility on the River Tees through the expansion of its load-out and assembly area for the fabrication of substation topsides and jackets.

The development coincides with the production of the first monopiles for offshore installations, which have been completed in TAG Energy Solutions’ state-of-the-art production facility, which was opened in autumn 2011.

The 6,920m2 production hall is part of TAG Energy Solutions’ 170,000 m2 facility, which is located on the River Tees, has the capability to deliver up to 100,000 te of steel monopiles per annum.

Employing an innovative manufacturing process, the facility’s semi-automated system rolls and welds large diameter tubulars for the offshore energy industries.

John MacAskill, Business Development Director at TAG Energy Solutions, said: “Global Offshore Wind is an ideal platform to update the industry on the progress TAG Energy Solutions has made to develop its position within the renewables supply chain.

“We are already generating substantial interest in our monopile production capabilities, which is perfectly complimented by our ability to deliver substation topsides and jackets from our riverside facility.

“Combining extensive offshore project management experience with new and innovative production systems is enabling TAG Energy Solutions to be at the forefront of supply chain development at what is a very exciting time for the offshore wind sector.”
