UK: WilHunter Rig Starts Drilling at Timon Prospect
MPX North Sea Ltd has completed suspension operations on well 3/3b-13Z (Orlando) and the Awilco Wihunter has moved to Block 211/11b adjacent to the Magnus Field to drill the Timon Prospect.
Well 211/11b-7 was spudded on 4th May 2012 and is anticipated to take around 40 days drilling to a total depth of approximately 11,000 ft.
Timon is an Upper Jurassic channelised sand play similar to the Cladhan and Tybalt discoveries also located in the UK Northern North Sea.
The co-venturers in the well are MPX North Sea Limited (15% and operator), Sorgenia E&P (UK) Ltd (15%), Agora Oil & Gas (UK) Limited (25%), Taqa Bratani Limited (18%), Wintershall E&P Limited (17%), and Valiant Exploration Limited (10%).
