UK: Xcite Energy Prepares for Bentley Production Tests

Xcite Energy has announced that the 9/3b-7 well at its Bentley field, offshore UK, has reached target depth of 9,377 feet (measured depth).

A reservoir section in excess of 2,200 feet has been penetrated, with 100% net pay, and sand screens have been run successfully. The remainder of the planned operations, including drilling of the second reservoir section, installation of the down-hole pump and commissioning of the processing equipment will now be undertaken prior to the production test commencing.

The two 6″ export pipelines from the Rowan Norway have been successfully installed and the installation vessel, Polar Prince, has been released.

Xcite Energy recently signed a time charter contract with Teekay Navion Offshore Loading Pte. Ltd. (“Teekay”), for the provision of the dynamically positioned “Scott Spirit” shuttle tanker vessel. The Scott Spirit is planned to be used as the in-field storage and offtake facility for Bentley crude oil during the Phase 1A of the Bentley field development programme now being undertaken.

Xcite Energy is 100% owner and operator of Block 9/3b, licence P.1078, containing the Bentley Field in its entirety. The block, which was awarded to XER in 2003 as part of the 21st UK Offshore Licensing Round, is located 160 km east of the Shetland Isles in 113 m of water.
