Ukraine’s PM urges new laws on natural gas market

Ukraine’s Prime Minister called for new laws on natural gas market in order to ensure the power supply of both Ukraine and Europe.

“To ensure the power supply of both Ukraine and Europe, this year we need to adopt a law on the natural gas market and, in particular, reform the entire system of tariffs, provide social minimum assistance from the State budget to all categories of people who need it,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at a meeting of the National Council of Reforms on Monday.

Yatsenyuk emphasized that the bill on the natural gas market has been developed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

He urged Ukraine’s Western partners to invest in the country’s gas transportation system and gas storage facilities. Yatsenyuk also appealed to the MPs of Ukraine to carefully handle the bill.
