US Coast Guard grants Magnolia LNG waterway suitability approval

The United States Coast Guard issued a letter of recommendation to FERC conveying that the Calcasieu River Ship Channel is suitable for LNG marine traffic. 

The letter of recommendation is issued in response to Magnolia LNG’s letter of intent, proposing to operate the Magnolia LNG facility in Lake Charles, stands in US Coast Guard’s letter.

After reviewing the information in the applicant’s letter of intent, and waterway suitability assessment and completing an evaluation of the waterway in consultation with a variety of state and local port stakeholders, it was recommended that the Calcasieu River Ship Channel be considered suitable for LNG marine traffic.
