Cheniere to File Corpus Christi Application by Aug

Houston-based LNG player Cheniere Energy plans to file a formal application in July or August to set up an LNG export terminal at Corpus Christi in Texas, Reuters cited Charif Souki, Cheniere’s CEO as saying.

Cheniere Energy said in December that is developing an LNG export terminal at one of Cheniere’s existing sites that was previously permitted for a regasification terminal.

The proposed Corpus Christi liquefaction project is being designed for up to three trains capable of producing in aggregate up to 13.5 million tonnes per annum.

This represents the company’s second LNG export project. Cheniere is currently developing an LNG export project at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal which includes four liquefaction trains capable of producing in the aggregate up to 18 mtpa of LNG.
