USA: Corps Presents Cedar Hammock Dredging Plan

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has announced a plan for the Cedar Hammock dredging program.

This development program includes the construction of stone riprap revetment for erosion control that includes bedding stone and geotextile with portions to be grouted on the channel side slopes, widening and deepening of the trapezoidal channel, transportation of the excavated material to disposal sites and placement of sod from the Mean Sea Level (MSL) line to edge of rights-of-way easements.

Work also includes dewatering, demolition of existing structures, storm drainage modifications, clearing and grubbing, turbidity monitoring, and vibration control monitoring. Installation of a new sidewalk, handrail, and guardrail is also included.

The project is located between 17th Avenue West and 21st Avenue and 30th Avenue West to 40 Avenue West, Manatee County, Florida, along Cedar Hammock (Wares Creek) flood control channel.

The total value of this contract is between USD 5 mln and USD 10 mln.

The solicitation will be issued on or about 3 July 2013 with bids due on or about 6 August 2013.
